The other day we went and suprised Jeff at work and ate lunch with him outside on a blanket. When Kaity was done eating she went to pick flowers. She's such a girl. Anyway, she came back to the blanket with a butterfly. She had actually caught a butterfly, and there was no way she was going to let it go. She was very careful with it so she wouldn't squish it the whole way home. When we got home she went and got her barn and set up a nice little home for her butterfly. Of course she had messed up its wings when she was carrying it, even though she was so careful. So by the time we got home it couldn't fly anymore. So it just walked around. It was cute watching her watch the butterfly.

35 Weeks 2 Days
Everything has still been going good with my pregnancy. I go to the hospital two times a week for non-stress tests and I have a weekly ultrasound. Which is so much fun! I love being able to see my little guy every week, and the hospital ultrasound is so detailed. I feel like I already know exactly what he looks like! :) I'm so excited to have this little guy! I think I could wait the 40 weeks if I had to easily if I didn't have to take insulin. It makes it so hard and stressful to always be worrying about my blood sugars.
This week my baby is supposedly the same weight as a honeydew melon, which is 5 1/2 pounds. Its also around 18 inches long. There's not much room left! :)

33 Weeks 6 Days
Last week I was 33 weeks. Everything has been going good so far, except for these darn contractions I keep having! My Dr. has me set up with non-stress tests 2 times a week, and a weekly ultrasound to keep an eye on my amniotic fluids, and I meet with my dr. and dietition about once a week as well. I feel like I live at the hospital now! The upside is that I have 1 more month left! :)
During week 33 the baby is about the size of a pineapple! It is almost 18 inches long and weighs about 5 pounds! He's getting nice and big! So far he is right on track and healthy! :) Which is always great news, especially for a diabetic!
The last time I went to the hospital for a non-stress test, the baby's heart rate wasn't going up when he moved like it should. So they were a little worried about it. They were going to do another ultrasound to check his heart and do some other tests, but before they did that they tried giving him a little jump start to see if that worked. So they had this little noise maker that made a buzzing noise when you push the button. The nurse put it up to my belly and pushed the button for about half a second. Right when the noise started, my baby jumped a mile! I had NEVER felt him jump that hard before! The noise scared him so bad! You could see my whole belly lunge to one side. It did the trick though. His heart rate went way up after that, then when he calmed down a little his heart was doing just what it needed to do. So there was nothing to worry about.
Matthew's First Day of School
Matthew had his first day of school last Wednesday! He was so excited! He even woke up at 3:30 that morning and came and woke me up to ask if it was time for school. I have no idea if he ever went back to sleep.
The night before we went to his school for Back To School Night. There I was supposed to talk to the bus people and get all the bus information for Matthew, but the bus people never showed up. So I was just going to drive him to school the first day, but he insisted that he wanted to ride the bus. There are 3 elementary schools here and so 3 different busses come to our apartment to pick up kids. I knew they came around 7:30 , so we walked out there and waited for one that was going to his school! I was so nervous when he climbed on. I just hoped it was the right bus!
Here he is all ready for his first day! :)
Kaity was so jealous. She can't wait to start school, too, but she has to wait until after Labor Day!
Waiting for the school bus!
After I got him on the bus I drove over to his school to make sure that he got to where he needed to be okay. When I got to his school, there were so many kids EVERYWHERE!! Of course I couldn't find Matthew anywhere. I just kept hoping that he wasn't stuck at some other elementary. When there was like 2 minutes till the bell rang he came running over to me! I was so glad that he found me! He said he was really excited, but he just looked so worried. So I asked him what was wrong and he wispered "I don't know where to go!" It was so sad! I barely had enough time to show him what line he was supposed to stand in and what bus to take home and then the bell rang and he just took off!
I can't believe that my little boy now goes to school for the whole day! It seems so long and he still seems so little to me. He loves it though!
Here we are waiting for Matthew to get home. I just hoped that he remembered what bus to get on to get home! :)
He made it home just fine! (I worry WAY too much!) When he got off the bus, his face was red and the first words out of his mouth were "I'm so hot!" It was a pretty hot day!
So, of course, we went to Lick's and got ice cream cones! :)
Back To School Night
Tuesday was Back to school night for Matthew. He has been soooooo excited to finally go back to school. He has been asking "How much longer?" for a VERY long time! When we got to his classroom he was real quick at finding his deskand he immediately sat down at it.
Then he went to the hallway and found his locker!
He instantly fell in love with his teacher. I just wish she had an easier name to say. Matthew has a really hard time saying Miss. DiGregorio, but she is super nice and Matthew jus adores her already.
Weekend Fun
Last weekend my parent's came up to visit since they have been in Kentucky all summer. It was nice to see them again. Tara and Tamara came over from Seattle, too. It was a real party. After the Lentil Festival we were all so hot! We went to my sister's house and she set up her kiddie pool. Matthew and Kaity loved it! All the other kids had water guns and were playing around the pool shooting everybody! If you didn't want to get wet, you didn't leave the house! :)
Later that night we had fun playing some games. We even tried a human pyramid. Kaity thought it was super fun. Can't you tell by her face! :)
Lentil Festival
This year Jeff had to work on the Saturday of the Lentil Festival, but my parent's ended up coming up this weekend which worked out perfectly because they came with me to the parade to help out with Matthew and Kaity. It was a very long parade (over an hour) and it was a VERY hot day! I couldn't make it the whole time. I started not feeling very good. But it was fun and I'm glad I went, and of course the kids loved it and got tons of candy.
Kaity is upset in this picture. That was her red popsicle on the ground by her feet. She dropped it almost right away. Great way to start.
We should have gotten someone to take a picture for us so my mom could be in the picture too, but here is a pic of us with my dad.
My mom sat on the curb with the kids.
Matthew was the only one that lasted in the sun the whole time. The rest of us retreated to the shade behind him. He was too afraid to move away from the curb thinking he wouldn't get anymore candy if he moved.
Miscellaneous Pictures
I had a few pictures that I took with my cell phone that I wanted to put on here.
Here are the kids at an indoor park playing. It was WAY too hot outside for me and I just wanted to sit down somewhere. So the kids had to play at this "baby park". They seemed to have fun though.
Here we were waiting for Jeff to get off of work.
Once again, waiting for Jeff to get off work for lunch. :)
I have to start going to the hospital 2 times a week to get non stress tests done and I've been having to take the kids with me because school hadn't started yet. So here is how Kaity spends her time at the hospital with me. Doesn't she look so comfy. :)
Here is the monitor from one of my non stress tests. The first (blue) line is the baby's heart rate and the second (green) line is what my utterus is doing. All those little bumps in it were my little contractions I was having. They say I have an irritable utterus because I have contractions like this constantly, but they aren't doing anything to me so its nothing to worry about yet.
Creative Kaity
The other day Kaity was sitting up to my desk coloring while I was doing some stuff on the computer next to her. Then I looked over at her and this is what she had done, all by herself. I thought it was pretty cute. She was very proud of herself, as you can see by her smile! :)
Sweet Matthew
Kaity accidentally shut her fingers in our sliding door and was crying pretty bad. So the first thing that Matthew did was go and get a TON of stuffed animals and completely surrounded Kaity with them to help make her feel better! I thought it was so sweet! It really shows how caring and sweet my little boy is! :)

32 Weeks 1 Day Ultrasound
Today I had another ultrasound to make sure everything is growing properly with the diabetes. Everything measured perfectly again. I always love hearing that news! He was measuring only 1 day bigger! He weighed 4 pounds 3 ounces! Since I switched Drs (Which I am so glad that I did! I love my new Dr.!) I went to the hospital for this ultrasound this time. Their machine was a little more high tech. We saw some pretty cool images of the baby. Here are some of the pictures that we got to keep.
This is a picture of the baby's face looking right at us with both of his arms up by his face. Like he's resting on his hands! It was so cute!
I'm glad to see that he has all of his toes :)
This is probably my favorite photo! Its just so clear! You can see all of his facial features! It was so cute to watch him here because he was making sucking movements with his mouth! It looked so neat! You could see his tongue and everything! I just loved it! I wished we could get a video of it! I can't wait to kiss those sweet little lips! :)
